Collectors and annotators are employed at professional rates. We do not run piece-work pricing, and we publish the principle so we can be held to it.

Data work built a global industry on African labour and left the wages thin and the datasets elsewhere. Nyansora is hiring for the opposite arrangement: careers rather than piece-work, on a corpus the continent keeps.

Real training
Annotation here is a trained discipline with review, quality scoring and progression, to the standard global labs already pay for.
Named work
Provenance runs through the corpus. The people and communities behind a dataset are recorded, not anonymised into a pipeline.

The company is built in Ghana, with partner hubs planned in East and Southern Africa as the network grows.

Field collection
Working with partner communities on consent-based collection of oral histories, proverbs, ceremony records and language data. Requires fluency in Akan (Twi) and, later, Ewe, Ga, Hausa or Yoruba.

Annotation and quality
Transcription, translation, tagging and review to training grade, plus the gold-standard sampling that every release is audited against.

Digitization
Running OCR and transcription lines over gazettes, court records, parish books, theses, newspapers, manuscripts and broadcast archives.

Platform engineering
The pipeline itself: ingestion, provenance metadata, quality tooling and the APIs that serve licensed datasets.

Partnerships and community
The relationships the corpus depends on, across communities, ministries, archives, universities and the customers who license the result.
